1.     Writing a Certificate of Congratulations on behalf of the ECMS Board to Professor May-Britt Moser  for winning the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2014.  Prof. Moser was the keynote speaker at ECMS2013 in Norway.

The report also describes CEMAS as ‘an exemplar project that has demonstrated excellence and best practice both in its product / service offering and its ability to take companies on a journey that not only delivers, but also adds significant value on both a tactical and strategic level’.

*      27 November 2013: Leading a mobile apps development workshop for businesses in North Wales at Llandudno “Venue Cymru” Conference Centre. 16 companies attended. Great success.

*      11-12 November 2013: Attended a training course on Agile Project management using SCRUM Methodology.

*      07 November 2013: Launch of Archwilio, a product of CEMAS: Wales become the first country in the world to have all its archaeological records accessible via intelligent mobile apps. The launch was covered by BBC Wales TV on its Wales Today  and all UK national Newspapers (Daily telegraph, Daily Mirror and many others). *      03 July 2013: Grant Success: The Finance Minister of Wales announced additional £500,000 funding for my CEMAS (www.cemas.mobi)  (Sept 2013 - June 2015. This brings the total project budget to £6.3 million.

*     15 May 2013: Deadline paper submission for NGMAST2013 in  Prague  extended to 31 May 2013.

*     26 September 2012: The 2nd CEMAS Mobile Apps Showcase held in Liberty Stadium in Swansea (the home of Swansea City Football Club). Huge success with over 40 companies and 200 participants. I am proud of my CEMAS Team.

 

*     19 September 2012: My Shadi moved to Cardiff University Accommodation to start his studies in Architecture there.

*     22 November 2006: Preparations started for the International Conference and Exhibition on Next Generation Mobile Applications, Services and Technologies (NGMAST’07) to be held in Cardiff on 12-14 September 2007. I am the General Chair of the conference.

*     24 October 2006: Royal recognition for scientific contributions: Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have given a reception in Buckingham Palace on the evening of 24th October 2006 to recognise the contribution of more than 500 British scientists.  I was invited as one of the recognised scientists!

·       The MSc. in Mobile Computing has been successfully launched.  Additionally, our mobile computing lab has been set up jointly at the moment with the networking lab.

·        The webpage of the 1st International Workshop on Performance Modelling of Wired, Wireless and Mobile Networking and Computing as part of IC PADS2005, Japan 22-25 July 2005 is on now.
