1. Writing a Certificate of Congratulations on behalf of the ECMS Board to Professor May-Britt Moser for winning the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2014. Prof. Moser was the keynote speaker at ECMS2013 in Norway.

16-17 December 2014: I complete the second and Final Part of the Senior Strategic Leadership Course (SSL20) by The Leadership Foundation for Higher Education in Durham. This course serves as preparation for those high flying academics ready for Senior positions in HE such as PVC and DVC.

03 July 2014: Independent Mid-Term Evaluation Report received for my CEMAS. I am delighted that the report is very thorough and very positive. Quote two paragraphs from the Executive Summary:
‘the Consultants consider this project to have been researched, planned for, delivered, managed and executed more effectively than any other projects we have observed at the mid-term stage’.
The report also describes CEMAS as ‘an exemplar project that has demonstrated excellence and best practice both in its product / service offering and its ability to take companies on a journey that not only delivers, but also adds significant value on both a tactical and strategic level’.

26 February 2014: New Patent Granted: UK Patent No.: GB2475578 (Security System) has been granted and published by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) today! This is my second granted patent.
28 November 2013: Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) launches the EU 2014-2020 funding programme. I was very surprised and honoured to see that WEFO has included my CEMAS project on their printed Official Calendar for 2014.
27 November 2013: Leading a mobile apps development workshop for businesses in North Wales at Llandudno “Venue Cymru” Conference Centre. 16 companies attended. Great success.
11-12 November 2013: Attended a training course on Agile Project management using SCRUM Methodology.
07 November 2013: Launch of Archwilio, a product of CEMAS: Wales become the first country in the world to have all its archaeological records accessible via intelligent mobile apps. The launch was covered by BBC Wales TV on its Wales Today and all UK national Newspapers (Daily telegraph, Daily Mirror and many others). The launch was held at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff attended by Minister John Griffiths, AM, Minister of Culture and Sports (pictured).

10 February 2010: Appointment Confirmed: The Executive Board has approved my appointment as the next EuroSim (The Federation of European Simulation Societies) President during the first ever UK Presidency of EUROSIM 2010-1013. This means I will be the President of the Federation of European National Societies on Modelling and Simulation as well as host of the EuroSim Congress in Cardiff in 2013. The position will be taken during the EuroSim Congress in Prague in September 2010. (News in Details)

14 July 2009: A Proud Day: Three of my PhD students graduated today: Firas Albalas, Chitra Balakrishna, and Suleiman Yerima. Congratulations to all. This makes the number of PhD completion 7 in 12 months plus one MPhil.
27 March 2009: Nominated to Lead the UK Presidency of EUROSIM 2010-1013. This means I will be the President of the Federation of European National Societies on Modelling and Simulation as well as host of the Eurosim Congress in Cardiff in 2013.

22 November 2006: Preparations started for the International Conference and Exhibition on Next Generation Mobile Applications, Services and Technologies (NGMAST’07) to be held in Cardiff on 12-14 September 2007. I am the General Chair of the conference.
26 October 2006: I have been invited to deliver the Keynote Speech at the First Annual European Cantata Technology User Conference held on 25 – 27 October 2006, in the beautiful location of Malta. This is a premier, “must attend” event for all Cantata developer customers – carriers and enterprises alike.
24 October 2006: Royal recognition for scientific contributions: Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have given a reception in Buckingham Palace on the evening of 24th October 2006 to recognise the contribution of more than 500 British scientists. I was invited as one of the recognised scientists!
07 July 2005: The Saddest day: I was in LONDON on this very sad day. I witnessed the horror of terrorism personally. I still cannot understand how people can be so inhuman, cruel and criminal! I can only thank God for being able to write these lines.
